Giving Back
Giving back to the communities we work with has always been an integral part of doing business at Still Interpreting Inc. Having been afforded the privilege to work within and alongside the Deaf community, reciprocity has been a guiding value of the company. Over the years, giving back has taken place in many ways, shapes, and forms. However, more recently, it has solidified into three core pillars.
Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind Communities
By sponsoring community initiatives and events with pro-bono services and donations. Financial sponsorship of events or providing interpreters at no cost allows us to give back to the community we work within in a meaningful way by reducing communication barriers and supporting community projects.
Interpreter Professional Development and Training
By providing high-quality workshops and training at no cost to interpreters. Providing these opportunities supports interpreters in their skill development, practitioner wellness, and ethical practice. Additionally, we support aspiring interpreters through an annual award presented to a student at Vancouver Community College.
Not-for-profit and Community-based Organizations
By offering discounted rates to not-for-profit and community-based organizations when they are booking interpreters. When budgets are tight and every dollar matters, we give back to organizations that are valuing accessibility and inclusion by offering discounted rates on interpreting services.
